Duty Free

T1 Open · 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Gate-side prices without city tax from T1’s main Duty Free

This Duty Free in Terminal T1 sits airside after security, so you can grab liquor, perfume, and chocolates without heading back landside. It runs long hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., covering the early Avianca departures and the late charter flights out of Santa Marta.

Expect standard airport pricing on spirits and tobacco, but usually better than stores in Santa Marta city thanks to the duty-free setup. Shelves lean on global whisky and rum brands, with big 1L bottles front and center. If you want Colombian rum as a souvenir, this is often the last stop before boarding in T1.

The beauty section carries the usual fragrance names and travel kits, with gift boxes that actually fit in a cabin-size bag. Snacks and boxed chocolates sit near the tills, handy if you forgot something for family and need it five minutes before boarding. Most people move through in under 10 minutes, even when an evening wave hits around 9:00 p.m.

Selection is straightforward rather than huge, so don’t bank on finding rare bottles or niche cosmetics. Stock can run thin late at night toward the 12:00 a.m. close, especially on mid-range whisky. Card payment works fine, but have a backup in case your bank flags Colombia.

Tip: If you care about choice, stop here right after clearing T1 security; don’t wait until final boarding calls start on your gate screen.
