Terminal B’s Urban Crave flies under the radar
Urban Crave sits past security in Terminal B, but you hardly see it mentioned in SMF reviews or mileage blogs. It’s one of the generic food-court concepts near the Southwest and JetBlue gates, the kind of place you spot while walking between B5 and B12 and think, “That’ll work.” Expect fast-casual American bar food: burgers, fries, sandwiches, and a few tacos and salads.
Menu boards usually run in the $10–$18 range for mains, with soft drinks around $4 and beer closer to $9–$11. You order at the counter, grab a buzzer, and pick up from a window, which matters if you’re trying to eat and still make a boarding time at B7 or B9. Portions skew bigger than a grab-and-go sandwich from the nearby market but smaller than a sit-down airport pub.
Seating is open to the concourse and shared with nearby stands, so you’re basically eating in the main Terminal B hall with a view of the departure boards over the B10–B12 cluster. Turnover is quick during the 6 a.m.–10 a.m. bank, then again in the early evening push around 5–7 p.m. Off-peak, it’s usually easy to find a table within a minute or two.
Food quality lands in the “fine for an airport” zone: fries come out hot most of the time, burgers are typically cooked through, and you’re not here for a destination dish. With no strong reports either way, assume standard terminal-bar reliability and plan around your schedule, not the menu. If your flight from B18 is boarding in under 25 minutes, stick to something you can eat in 10, like tacos or a chicken sandwich.
Practical tip: check your gate first; if you’re leaving from B1–B4, Urban Crave adds 5–10 minutes of extra walking each way compared with grabbing food closer to the front of Terminal B.
