Iron Horse Tavern

B

Terminal B is where Iron Horse Tavern tries to feel like a city restaurant

Most SMF spots feel grab-and-go; Iron Horse Tavern in Terminal B leans more like a sit-down bar and grill with a real menu and full bar. It sits airside after security in the central dining zone, a few minutes’ walk from the B10–B18 gates. Expect host seating instead of counter shouts, table service, and a slightly dimmer room than the food court across the way.

Hours generally track the Terminal B bank, opening around the first 6:00 a.m. departures and running to roughly 9:00–10:00 p.m., though late-night flights after 10:30 p.m. sometimes find it already closed. Breakfast runs into late morning, then the menu flips to burgers, salads, and bar snacks, with most mains landing in the $15–$22 range. Draft beer and cocktails typically sit in the $9–$15 bracket.

Menu standouts at other Iron Horse locations give you a guide here: think a hefty burger with bacon or blue cheese, shareable fries or wings, and a big salad with grilled chicken for something lighter. Expect airport tweaks and slightly smaller tap lists than downtown, but you still get a real glass, a proper pour, and a printed cocktail list instead of a generic “full bar” sign. Kids’ options usually fall in the $8–$12 range.

Service speed varies with the nearby Southwest and Alaska banks that crowd the B gates around the top of the hour. With only one kitchen handling the room and bar, a seated meal can run 35–50 minutes during the 5:30–8:00 p.m. push. If your boarding time is under 30 minutes away, stick to a bar seat and one course, or pivot to something pre-made from a neighboring stand.

Tip: grab a two-top near the aisle facing gates B14–B16 so you can see your boarding lane form while you finish the last of a $10 draft or that burger.
