By gate-side in Terminal 2, Public doubles as bookstore and gadget stop
On the airside level of Terminal 2, Public sits in the main departures shopping strip, a few minutes’ walk from most A and B gates. It’s the familiar Greek high-street brand: books, magazines, headphones, chargers, toys, small gifts, and some travel tech in one place. Prices run typical airport-high but not outrageous for SKG; think €10–€20 for paperbacks and €15–€40 for accessories like power banks.
Public in T2 usually opens from early morning check-in waves to the last evening departures, roughly 05:00 until around 22:00, in line with the terminal’s schedule. You’ll find Greek and English-language books side by side, plus a rack of foreign magazines near the entrance. Tech shelves carry known brands for cables and earbuds, which is useful if your charger died somewhere between ATH and SKG.
The shop is post-security in Terminal 2, so you need a same-day boarding pass to get in. Expect tourist-focused gifts like Thessaloniki mugs and fridge magnets starting around €5, and kids’ items and games from €8–€25. Snacks and bottled drinks sit closer to the till, but the selection is smaller than at the dedicated convenience stores elsewhere in T2.
No major red-flag complaints show up in recent reviews; people mainly mention it as “the book and electronics place in T2.” If you’re pressed for time before a flight around gates A1–A8, it’s close enough for a quick grab-and-go without stressing boarding. Tip: if you need a specific title, ask staff immediately; the stockroom behind the main floor sometimes has extra copies not visible on the front shelves.
