Coffeeway

1

Landside in Terminal 1, Coffeeway is the pre-security caffeine stop.

This Coffeeway sits in Terminal 1 landside, before check-in and security, so you can grab an espresso while waiting for a domestic or charter departure. It runs on typical airport hours, opening early for morning flights and staying open through the evening wave, and focuses on standard espresso-based drinks plus a few pastries in the 2–4 EUR range.

Because it is one of the few straightforward coffee counters in Terminal 1 before security, it tends to be quicker than some airside stands when several gates in Terminal 2 are busy. A Google Maps reviewer mentioned getting served here faster than after security, which lines up with the smaller queue you usually see near the check-in desks. Expect the usual cappuccino, espresso, freddo, and basic snacks rather than full meals.

Landside location makes Coffeeway handy if you are meeting arriving friends at SKG or waiting with family before they clear security in Terminal 1. Regulars use it as an agreed meet-up point near domestic and charter check-in, grabbing a freddo espresso or bottled water before bags are dropped. It works as a holding spot for 20–30 minutes, but seating is limited, so larger groups may end up standing.

Watch out for typical airport pricing, which runs above city cafés by about 1–2 EUR per drink, and for slow service when multiple flights check in around the same time. With only a few tables, you may find every seat taken during the 06:00–09:00 morning rush and again in the early evening. If the line is more than six or seven people deep, you might cut it close for a tight check-in window.

Tip: grab your coffee at Coffeeway first, then head to the Terminal 1 check-in counters; it is faster than trying to backtrack from airside if queues suddenly build.
