Gate-side Duty-Free in Terminal B saves a last souvenir run
This Duty-Free sits airside in Terminal B at Sarajevo International, just past security and passport control, before you split off to the B gates. It’s the main shop you walk through on the way to boarding, so you won’t miss it, but it’s small compared with bigger European hubs. Figure 5–10 minutes to browse if your flight boards from the nearby B gates.
Stock leans heavily on liquor, cigarettes, and standard perfumes, plus the usual chocolates and snacks. Prices track normal EU duty-free levels, not bargain-basement Balkan supermarket prices, so local travelers say it’s more about convenience than savings. If you want Bosnian gift chocolate or branded sweets for around €5–€10, you’ll find them here without needing to shop in town first.
Payment works fine with both cards and cash; you can usually pay in euros or local BAM, but change tends to come back in BAM. Alcohol options cover well-known international spirits and some regional labels; expect 1L bottles in the €15–€30 range depending on brand. If you’re picky about niche whisky or gin, buy before you get to SJJ.
Selection thins out later in the evening once the last wave of departures leaves Terminal B, typically after 21:00, so choice is better earlier in the day. Shelves stay tidy, but don’t expect extensive food-on-the-go; it’s mostly candy and packaged snacks. Tip: grab real food landside or at a café in B first, then use Duty-Free for gifts and cigarettes on the walk to your gate.
