Most locals taxi to SJJ; Airport Car Park is for quick trips
At Sarajevo International (terminal B), the on-airport Airport Car Park mainly serves short-stay business travelers and locals heading out for 1–3 days who want to park directly at the terminal doors instead of saving a few euros off-site. It’s a basic, open-air short-stay lot, right by the B terminal building, so you’re walking distance to check-in in under 3–4 minutes.
This is officially the short-stay option, so pricing is geared to hours and single days rather than week-long holidays; factor that in if you’re thinking of leaving the car for 5+ days. Being on the airport perimeter by terminal B, it works best if you’re dropping in for meetings, picking someone up, or flying out for a quick overnight somewhere like Vienna or Istanbul.
The layout is simple: drive up to the terminal side of SJJ on the main access road, follow the signs for "Parking" near terminal B, take a ticket at the barrier, and find an open bay in the marked short-stay area. Pay stations sit close to the terminal entrance, so you can walk from your car to check-in in one shot without crossing a public road.
Facilities are minimal: you’re looking at marked outdoor spaces, lighting, and ticket machines, but no covered parking or premium sections. There’s no dedicated walk-through to any other terminal, because SJJ essentially runs off terminal B, so all flights use the same side of the building and the same short-stay car park footprint.
Tip: If your trip runs over 3–4 days, price out local taxis or rideshare to Sarajevo city center before committing; at SJJ, many regulars skip parking entirely because the drive from the Baščaršija area is only about 15–20 minutes in light traffic.
