On-airport Daily Lot 6 trades price and time for control

Daily Lot 6 sits on airport property at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International (SJC), in the daily parking tier rather than economy. It’s an uncovered lot with per-day pricing rather than hourly, aimed at trips that run a couple of days to a week. You park your own car, keep your keys, and walk or shuttle to Terminal A or Terminal B depending on your airline.

Daily rates here are higher than SJC’s Economy Lot 1, but lower than Terminal Garage 2’s prime-spot convenience. Being on-site means airport security patrols and lighting, similar to the main garages serving Terminals A and B. That tradeoff makes sense if you care more about on-airport control of your car than shaving every dollar off the bill.

There’s no valet or car-care add-ons like detailing or fuel top-ups in Daily Lot 6, just standard self-park rows marked with numbers you’ll want to photograph. Walk times vary based on your row, but plan a 10–15 minute buffer to reach Terminal B check-in or the Terminal A ticketing counters. Add another 5–10 minutes at peak morning bank times if you still need to check a bag.

If you’re flying out of Terminal A on a busy Monday 7–9 a.m., aim to enter the lot at least 90 minutes before departure, more if you’re not checked in. For late-night arrivals into Terminal B after 10 p.m., the on-airport location means you avoid waiting off-site for crowded shuttles. That’s a small win when you’re landing on the last SFO spillover flights into SJC.

Tip: Screenshot your row and drop a pin in your maps app as soon as you park in Lot 6; the open layout and similar light poles make it easy to wander an extra 5–10 minutes looking for your car after a long trip.
