Delta elites at SJC: there is no Sky Club here
Terminal A at San Jose (SJC) has zero Delta Sky Club presence, even though Delta runs multiple daily flights from this concourse. If you’re used to a Sky Club at SFO or LAX, adjust your expectations before you head to SJC.
The only traditional lounge in the airport is The Club SJC in Terminal A, near gate A15, and it opens roughly from early morning bank to late evening departures. FlyerTalk’s SJC lounge master thread lists The Club as the sole lounge and never mentions a Delta Sky Club, because there isn’t one.
Delta Medallion flyers with paid Sky Club memberships or Reserve cards get no extra benefit here beyond whatever Priority Pass or lounge network access they already hold. Several Bay Area threads call out SJC as the weak spot compared with SFO, where Delta runs a full Sky Club in Terminal 1.
If you have Priority Pass, The Club SJC usually admits cardholders for up to three hours, capacity permitting. Expect standard contract-lounge food, self-serve drinks, and basic seating; reviews often compare it to generic The Club locations at airports like LAS or ATL, not to a flagship Delta space.
Without Priority Pass or similar, you’re mostly in gate seating along Terminal A, from about gate A1 through A17. Power outlets are hit-or-miss at older pods, and Wi‑Fi rides on the free SJC network, which many regulars say slows down during the morning Delta and Southwest rush around 7:00–9:00 a.m.
Delta regulars on FlyerTalk mention two options before their SJC flights: use The Club SJC via Priority Pass near A15, or grab a table at restaurants like San Jose Joe’s in Terminal A with an outlet and work there. Several mention simply budgeting an extra coffee and staying at the gate when The Club posts a “capacity full” sign.
Watch out for the late afternoon push, roughly 4:00–7:00 p.m., when The Club SJC often hits capacity and turns away walk‑ups. If you’re counting on lounge access before a Delta flight in that window, have a backup plan at the gate or in one of the sit‑down spots.
Practical tip: if lounge time really matters, consider routing the trip out of SFO instead, where the Delta Sky Club in Terminal 1 accepts the same memberships and Reserve cards that do nothing extra for you at SJC.
