T1’s only real souvenir stop sits across from main check-in
Gift Kiosk is the small, all-purpose shop in Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport’s T1, right in the compact pre- and post-security area by the single check-in zone. The airport is tiny, so you’re talking a 1–2 minute walk from the security line to the kiosk. Think last‑minute Alaska gifts, basic snacks, and a few “I actually flew to Sitka” items before boarding.
Hours track airline schedules, so it typically opens around the first morning departures and closes after the last Alaska Airlines flight boards in the evening. Prices run higher than in town, as expected in a small island airport, but still below what you’d see at big hubs like SEA or ANC. You’ll find Sitka and Alaska-branded mugs, magnets, keychains, plus some local-themed shirts mixed in with generic travel stuff.
Stock skews practical: single-serve snacks under about $5, bottled drinks, basic hygiene items, and a small rack of chargers, headphones, and charging cables that can save a flight if you forgot yours at a hotel. There’s usually a stand of postcards and small, packable items that fit easily in the overhead bin on a Q400 or 737.
If you want anything more than airport snacks or simple souvenirs, buy it in town; the airport’s just this kiosk and the boarding area. One tip: shop before you sit down at your gate, because lines can form 20–30 minutes before each Alaska departure when everyone remembers they still need snacks and a magnet.
