China Airlines Lounge

International · A1 Open · Sunday - Saturday: 9:30 am-12:30 pm

Level 4 above Gate A1, this is the China Airlines Lounge

The China Airlines Lounge sits in SFO International Terminal A, just past security by Gate A1, and only opens from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm daily. It’s on Level 4, so after security you turn left, then take the elevator up instead of staying on the main concourse level.

Access is restricted to passengers on China Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, China Eastern, and Condor using eligible tickets or status; recent reports don’t mention general Priority Pass entry anymore, so don’t count on card access at the door. If you’re flying Air France, KLM, or other T-A carriers, you’re usually pointed to the Golden Gate Lounge or Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse instead.

The short three-hour opening window means this lounge mostly serves the late-morning CI, VN, MU, and Condor departures from Concourse A. Morning departures before 9:30 am or later afternoon flights on the A side won’t see this place open, so check your boarding time; a 10:30 am flight works, a 2:00 pm flight does not.

Food is basic compared with the nearby Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse: think small hot trays, packaged snacks, and soft drinks, with alcohol usually limited to a few standard bottles during the 9:30 am–12:30 pm span. If you want a proper meal, some regulars just grab something in the International Terminal A food court downstairs before heading up to Level 4.

Seating is standard lounge armchairs and cafe tables, with most reviews mentioning it feels quieter than the Golden Gate Lounge when all three are open in Concourse A. Power outlets are scattered, so if you need to charge a laptop for a 12-hour CI or VN flight, hunt for wall-side seats first instead of the center clusters.

FlyerTalk regulars often lounge-hop between this space, the Golden Gate Lounge, and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse along Concourse A, swapping based on crowding and food quality at a given hour. If you have time before a China Airlines or Vietnam Airlines departure, start here on Level 4 above Gate A1, then walk the few minutes down the concourse to check the others.

Practical tip: if your International Terminal A flight boards before 11:00 am, clear security by 9:30 am, head straight left to the elevator near A1, and use the China Airlines Lounge first before it shuts at 12:30 pm.
