Payanke Lounge

Domestic

Almost no one talks about the Domestic Payanke Lounge at SEZ

Hardly any trip reports mention the Payanke Lounge in the Domestic terminal at Seychelles International Airport, so you’re walking into near‑blank internet territory. It sits airside after security for domestic departures, mainly serving Air Seychelles passengers heading to islands like Praslin. If you collect lounges, this one is more curiosity than destination, simply because information is so thin.

Access runs through Air Seychelles premium tickets and Priority Pass, so status or a lounge card helps here. Domestic check‑in at SEZ usually opens around 90 minutes before short hops, which caps how long you can realistically stay inside. Figure on 20–30 minutes from curb through domestic security to lounge door during normal traffic, less if you arrive on an international connection with bags already checked through.

The space itself is smaller than the main international lounges and built around short 15–30 minute waits before boarding prop flights. Seating is standard armchairs and small tables rather than full recliners, and power outlets can be limited in older corners of the Domestic terminal. Treat it as an upgrade from the regular seating at the few domestic gates instead of a place to camp for hours.

Food and drink in domestic lounges at SEZ generally track basic regional standards: think light snacks over full hot buffet meals, especially outside the core midday bank of Air Seychelles departures. Soft drinks, water, tea, and coffee are usually available, but don’t bank on a large spirits lineup compared with bigger international lounges. If you want something substantial, the main terminal cafés landside often have more options by price and portion size.

Priority Pass terms sometimes restrict guest access at smaller outstations like SEZ Domestic, especially during tight departure banks for Air Seychelles flights to Praslin and other islands. Check the current guest policy in your app before you reach the airport so you’re not renegotiating at the desk. Staff at small lounges often stick closely to the printed rules when there are fewer than four or five flights on the board.

Practical tip: aim to clear domestic security about 45–60 minutes before your flight, grab 20 minutes in Payanke Lounge if your Priority Pass or Air Seychelles ticket qualifies, then head to the gate as soon as boarding for your specific island is called.
