Economy Parking

Long-term surface lot

Daily max around $35 keeps Economy Parking cheaper than the garage

SEA’s Economy Parking is the airport’s long-term surface lot, a few minutes’ drive from the Main terminal. It runs on-airport shuttle buses 24/7, so you’re not betting your flight on an off-site van showing up. If you’re gone more than two days, the daily rate here usually beats the main terminal garage, especially once you cross that 3–4 day mark.

The lot is huge, outdoor, and divided into color-coded zones and row numbers printed on tall poles, so snap a photo of your section as soon as you park. Shuttles loop the rows and then go straight to the Main terminal departures level, dropping at islands for both airlines and check-in areas. Count on about 10–15 minutes from your car to the terminal once you’re actually on the shuttle, plus a few minutes of circling if you’re in a far row.

You pay on exit, with card and mobile payment accepted at automated machines near the exit plaza. There are no EV chargers in most rows, so don’t assume you can plug in for a week-long trip. Lighting covers the main drive aisles and many rows, but some outer sections feel darker after 22:00, so park closer in if you’re arriving late at night.

The shuttles run 24 hours, but late-night and very early morning (00:00–04:00) waits can stretch toward 20 minutes if you just miss a bus. Families with big checked bags or strollers should try to park near a shuttle stop sign rather than in the empty middle of a row. One practical move: drop passengers and bags at the Main terminal first, then loop out to Economy Parking solo so only one person has to wrangle luggage on the shuttle back.
