Two scoops here cost less than a sit-down meal
Leopold’s Ice Cream sits in the Main Terminal food area at Savannah/Hilton Head (SAV), past security and a short walk from most gates. It’s the airport offshoot of the downtown Savannah institution, so you’re getting the same old-school soda fountain vibe, just with more rolling bags in line. Hours shift with flight banks, but figure roughly late morning through early evening; don’t bank on a 5 a.m. cone.
Most single scoops run in the $5–$7 range, and doubles land closer to $8–$10 depending on flavor and toppings. Standard flavors like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry sit next to house specials such as Tutti Frutti when they have it. You can get cups, cones, sundaes, and shakes, plus simple coffee and soft drinks if you just want caffeine with something sweet.
Service is counter-style, so plan on 5–10 minutes at off-peak times and closer to 15 if two or more flights unload at once. Seating in the Main Terminal can be tight, so most people just take their cone back toward the gate. Portions run big by airport standards, so a single scoop usually covers a small snack and a double easily replaces dessert after a meal elsewhere in the terminal.
Tip: If your layover is under 30 minutes, order in a cup instead of a cone so you can walk back to the gate at SAV without drip risk when they start boarding.
