Main Parking Lot

Official airport parking

Main lot sits directly in front of SAP terminal

The Main Parking Lot at Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP) sits right in front of the passenger terminal, close enough to watch cars and drop-offs from the curb. This is the official on-site option, so you stay on airport property instead of leaving your vehicle at a hotel in San Pedro Sula or along CA-13.

Parking is open 24/7 to match SAP’s flight schedule, with most local users coming in daylight hours for departures between roughly 06:00 and 18:00. You pull a ticket at the entrance gate and pay at staffed booths on exit; rates are charged by the hour and by the day, with a clear jump once you pass the first few hours. Keep some lempiras or a card ready so you’re not holding the line at busy morning bank times.

The lot is uncovered and on one level, so there’s no height restriction beyond standard entry clearance at the barrier. Walking time from the furthest row to the terminal entrance is usually under 3–5 minutes at a normal pace. If you care about line of sight to the doors, aim for a spot roughly opposite the main departures canopy, even if it means circling the inner lanes once or twice.

Security is typical for a public surface lot in San Pedro Sula: lights, on-site staff, and other cars coming and going around main bank of flights. Most locals using it for daytime stays prefer it over leaving a vehicle in the city center for 4–8 hours. For overnight or multi-day trips, many people shift to hotel shuttles or private drivers instead of paying multiple daily maximums here.

Practical tip: take a quick photo of your car, row marker, and the terminal frontage as you walk in; it makes it much easier to relocate the car quickly in the heat after you clear arrivals.
