Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club

2 · between 46 and 47 Open · /09:00-19:00 showers Day pass /$X

Between gates 46 and 47 in T2 West, this is Chase’s answer to Aspire fatigue at SAN.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club sits in Terminal 2 West, literally between gates 46 and 47, on the opposite side of the horseshoe from Aspire and closer to many United, Delta, and long‑haul departures. It pulls the same San Diego crowd that holds Chase Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan cards and has been waiting for something nicer than the shared‑use options in T2.

Hours currently run roughly 09:00–19:00, which lines up better with mid‑day and early evening bank‑card traffic than with the very first wave of 06:00 departures. If your flight leaves around 20:30 or later, don’t bank on a pre‑boarding sit here; you may need to fall back to Aspire or an airline club in the same Terminal 2 complex.

Access is tied heavily to Chase Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve, with those cardholders getting in without a separate fee; day pass pricing is still listed as $X, and Priority Pass rules are tighter than at Aspire. If your lounge strategy has been “flash Priority Pass and walk into anything,” this space breaks that habit, so check your exact Chase product before heading toward gate 46.

Compared with the Aspire Lounge near other T2 gates, this spot sees more points‑obsessed locals who route themselves through T2 West intentionally. Flyertalk regulars talk about shifting their whole pre‑flight routine here, only backtracking to Aspire or a United Club when Chase hits capacity. On days with long layovers, they aim for flights departing in the high‑40s gate range to cut down on back‑and‑forth walking.

There’s still less review volume than you’d see for a long‑running United Club, but the early chatter frames this as the premium option in a four‑lounge lineup: United Club, Aspire Lounge, Chase Sapphire Lounge, and Delta Sky Club, all in Terminal 2. The expectation is that Sapphire becomes the default for Reserve holders, with Aspire as overflow once this lounge’s rhythms settle in.

Practical tip: if your boarding pass shows a low‑40s gate in Terminal 2 but you have Chase Sapphire Reserve, head straight toward gates 46–47 first, check the door for current hours and access details, and only then decide whether to walk back toward Aspire or your airline’s club.
