La Brea Bakery

Gate maps still show it, but La Brea might not

La Brea Bakery at Reno–Tahoe International (RNO) shows up on airport maps and Google at the Main Terminal, but recent flyers report walking the concourse and not finding it operating at all. Photos on Google still show old menu boards and pastry cases, which usually means the listing is on autopilot while the space changes hands or concepts.

Most online references still describe La Brea Bakery as a pre-flight grab-and-go spot in the Main Terminal for coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, but recent comments from 2023–2024 mention shuttered doors or a different outlet where La Brea used to be. No one posts current drink prices, pastry types, or hours, which is a red flag in an airport this small.

The official RNO dining page previously grouped La Brea under Main Terminal concessions with standard daytime hours like 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. to late evening, but newer airport updates spotlight other operators instead. If you have an early-morning departure from RNO, plan on Starbucks, Timber Ridge, or McDonald’s for sure-thing coffee rather than assuming La Brea will be running espresso shots at 5:30 a.m.

Common complaint on Google Maps: travelers arriving on Southwest and United in the Main Terminal say they followed the map pin near their gates and found either closed gates, a different brand, or nothing labeled “La Brea Bakery” at all. Several note that the photos look several years old and don’t match the current concourse layout.

Watch out for: relying on La Brea as your only food plan if you land around 9:00 p.m. or depart before 7:00 a.m. at RNO. Treat it as “maybe it exists, maybe it doesn’t” and build in 10 extra minutes to walk the Main Terminal concourse and pivot to another option.

One practical tip: check the live “Dine” section of renoairport.com on the day you fly and zoom in on the Main Terminal map; if La Brea isn’t listed there with hours, assume it’s functionally gone and head straight to another stand.
