Employee Parking Lot

Employee parking

Hundreds of RNO staff cars fill the Employee Parking Lot every shift.

This lot sits on airport property at Reno–Tahoe International (RNO) and is reserved for airline, TSA, concession, and airport employees, not the general public. Access typically requires an employee badge and registration with airport operations, so travelers booking parking online won’t see this option listed alongside Daily or Long-Term parking near the Main Terminal.

Because several hundred workers park here for early morning and late‑night shifts, the Employee Parking Lot quietly shapes how busy the airport roads feel between about 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. At those times, staff shuttles and personal cars are feeding into the same entry roads you use to reach the Main Terminal curb, which can add a few extra minutes to the drive in.

Shuttle runs between the Employee Parking Lot and the Main Terminal doors typically sync with shift changes, often on a 15–30 minute pattern. Those buses share some of the same lanes and intersections as public parking shuttles. When multiple shifts turn over at once, it can slightly slow the loop for Long‑Term and Economy riders heading to or from their cars.

For travelers, the main takeaway is timing: if you’re targeting a 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. departure out of RNO’s Main Terminal, budget an extra 10–15 minutes for the access road and shuttle steps. Build that buffer into your arrival time, especially on Mondays and Fridays when employee traffic and early bank departures often line up.
