Lowest on-airport rates sit out at RNO’s Economy Lot
This is Reno–Tahoe International Airport’s true budget option: the Economy Lot sits on airport property and undercuts the Main terminal garages on daily price. It’s signed as “Economy Parking” as you approach the terminal on National Guard Way, and you pay on exit by card or cash. If you’re leaving the car for several days, this is usually the cheapest on-airport total.
The Economy Lot serves the single Main terminal, so there’s no terminal choice to worry about. You park, then ride the airport shuttle in; walking isn’t realistic from the far rows. Stays are calculated per 24 hours, and the daily cap runs lower than the terminal garage ceiling, which adds up fast on a 5–7 day trip.
Shuttles link the Economy Lot to the Main terminal curb in just a few minutes; most airports target roughly a 5–10 minute loop, and RNO fits that small-airport pattern. You’re dropped near the main entrance doors for ticketing and baggage drop. Shuttles are standard airport buses, so they can handle ski bags and checked-luggage-size rollers without drama.
Economy parking uses open-air surface spaces, so in winter at 4,400 feet elevation you may be brushing snow or scraping frost off the windshield. In summer, expect full sun on the car during long trips. If weather matters more than price on a particular trip, check garage rates in the Main terminal structures as a comparison.
Tip: Build a 20–30 minute buffer before your airline’s check-in cutoff to park in the Economy Lot, catch the shuttle, and clear security without feeling rushed.
