Visitor Information Center

Gate-side in Concourse A, this is RIC’s help desk

The Visitor Information Center sits pre-security in the main terminal of Richmond International (RIC), close to the airline ticket counters and baggage claim carousels 2–3. It’s a staffed desk focused on airport basics and local info, not a brochure dump. Look for the information symbol and the Richmond region branding as soon as you enter the main hall from the parking garage.

Hours track the main flight banks, generally opening by the first morning departures around 5:00–5:30 a.m. and staying open into the evening departure push. If you land very late (after 10:00 p.m.) or on a slow weekend midday, expect it might be closed and plan to grab printed maps or use your phone instead.

Staff can point you to specific airline check-in counters, TSA security for Concourse A/B, rental car desks on the lower level, and the ground transportation zones used by taxis and rideshares. They also keep printed material on Richmond-area hotels, I-64 driving routes toward Williamsburg, and basic sightseeing highlights like the downtown riverfront.

You won’t pay for anything here; the Visitor Information Center is a free service, focused on directions, brochures, and quick answers. If you need SIM cards, chargers, or snacks, you’ll still need to walk to the main newsstand or gift shop near security in Terminal 1.

Practical play: if you’re meeting someone at RIC and aren’t sure where arrivals come out, use the Visitor Information Center as your landmark and wait in that seating area just off baggage claim.
