Gate-side grab at RIC: Lamar Kiosk keeps it basic
Lamar Kiosk sits airside in Terminal 1 at Richmond (RIC), near the main concourse walkway after security. Think small footprint: a walk-up stand you spot on the way to the gates rather than a place you camp out. It functions as a last-minute stop for snacks and small items once you’re already past the single security checkpoint RIC uses for all airlines.
Hours track with the first and last banks of flights, roughly early morning to early evening, but it can close earlier on slower days, especially after the last departures around 9–10 p.m. at RIC. If you’re on one of the final flights of the night, don’t count on it being open and grab anything you need before dinnertime.
Pricing runs in typical airport territory: expect packaged snacks in the $3–$6 range and drinks around $3–$5. Lamar Kiosk leans on grab-and-go items rather than hot food, so think chips, candy, and bottled beverages more than meals. If you want a proper sandwich or bar seat, you’re better off hitting one of the larger concessions in Terminal 1 before walking down toward your gate.
There’s no seating attached to Lamar Kiosk, and the footprint is small enough that more than four or five people in line can spill into the concourse. That said, service at RIC generally moves quickly because departures are spaced out across the day. Plan your stop when you see the line at two people or less, and you’ll be back at your gate in under five minutes.
