Near Gate B3 in Terminal 1, this kiosk really is just called “Salads.”
You’ll find Salads post-security in Terminal 1, close to the B-gates, set up as a quick counter for build-your-own greens instead of another fried option. It’s grab-and-go focused, so think fast service for a pre-boarding meal rather than a sit-down spot with servers or table numbers.
Menu boards list base salads around the $10–$14 range, with extra protein like grilled chicken or turkey typically adding a few dollars. Portions run large enough to count as a full meal, unlike the side salads you’ll see at the national chains elsewhere in RIC. Expect the usual toppings lineup: tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded cheese, croutons, and a couple of daily add-ons.
Dressing comes in sealed cups, usually including ranch, Italian, Caesar, and at least one lighter vinaigrette option, with extra cups sometimes charged around $1. The upside: you control exactly how much goes on, which helps if you’re headed straight into a 2–3 hour flight from Richmond to hubs like ATL or CLT and don’t want a heavy sauce situation.
Turnover is highest during the morning and early afternoon banks of departures, roughly 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., so ingredients tend to look fresher during those windows. Later in the evening, after the last bank of flights around 8–9 p.m., choice can shrink a bit and you may see fewer toppings in the bins.
Salads usually runs the same general hours as the rest of Terminal 1’s food court area, opening by the time the first flights board around 5 a.m. and winding down before the final departures. If your RIC layover is under an hour, order one of the preset combinations instead of fully custom; that shaves a few minutes off your wait when a boarding call hits the screens at your gate.
