Inter-Terminal Shuttle

Shuttle

Shuttle Every 15-20 mins

Ten minutes on foot beats a 15-minute wait for the shuttle

At Yangon International, T1, T2, and T3 sit close enough that most people just walk between terminals in under 10 minutes, so the Inter-Terminal Shuttle mainly matters for anyone avoiding the heat or heavy rain. The shuttle links all three terminals in a loop, running from early morning into the evening and saving you from rolling bags across the open forecourt during a downpour.

The Inter-Terminal Shuttle operates roughly every 15–20 minutes from around 05:30 AM until about 09:00 PM, covering the main terminal doors at T1, T2, and T3. There’s no posted premium or special ticketing; it’s treated as basic airport ground movement, which is why many locals simply skip it and walk when the weather is dry.

How to use the Inter-Terminal Shuttle step by step

  • 1. Check which terminals you need. International flights mainly use T1 and T3, while many domestic services still touch T3, so confirm your arrival and departure terminals on your ticket or app before you leave the baggage belt.
  • 2. Decide if you really need the bus. If you can handle a 600–800 meter outdoor walk between T1 and T3 and the weather is under control, walking is usually faster than waiting 15–20 minutes for the next shuttle.
  • 3. Follow signs to the terminal curb. Exit into the public arrivals area of T1, T2, or T3, then walk to the main roadway in front of the terminal doors where airport vehicles and taxis line up; shuttle pick-up points sit along this same curb.
  • 4. Wait at the marked shuttle stop. Look for small airport shuttle boards or ask an airport staff member at the curb; buses loop through all three terminals in order, so any shuttle that stops here will take you onward, even if it’s not branded loudly.
  • 5. Board with your bags and keep your documents handy. Stow checked and cabin bags near your seat, since rides between T1, T2, and T3 are short but bumpy over the airport road, and you may need your boarding pass again when you re-enter security at the next terminal.
  • 6. Re-clear security at the new terminal. Once the shuttle drops you at T1, T2, or T3, head straight inside to departures, where you’ll pass through standard security screening again before reaching the gates for your onward flight.

One last tip: in heavy rain at 05:30–07:30 AM or around the 07:00–09:00 PM bank, budget an extra 20 minutes in case the shuttle loop slows behind other ground traffic between T1 and T3.
