Mingalar Sky Lounge

T1 Open · 24 Hours Daily showers Day pass $8

$8 walk-in gets you into Mingalar Sky Lounge in T1.

This is the contract lounge most SkyTeam carriers use in Terminal 1 at Yangon International Airport, and it runs 24 hours a day. It also shows up on multiple bank lounge programs like Priority Pass and Airport Angel, so T1 non-elites tend to funnel here by default. If your airline mentions “contract lounge” on your boarding pass in T1, odds are it’s this one.

Access is simple: pay about US$8 at the door, or enter via Priority Pass and similar memberships. That cash rate is far below what many other airports charge for day passes, and it matters if you’re looking at a 3–4 hour wait before a late-night departure. All passengers can buy in regardless of cabin or status, which is useful on discounted economy tickets out of Yangon.

The lounge sits airside in T1 after security, so clear immigration first before hunting for the entrance near the international gates. Since it’s the main contract option for several SkyTeam airlines, it can fill up before bank-heavy departures around midnight and early morning. If you’re on a T1 flight close to those peaks, factor in an extra 10–15 minutes to find a seat and get food before queues build at the buffet.

Food and drink are basic but better than buying separate meals in the terminal, especially if you’d spend more than US$8 at a café anyway. Expect simple hot items and snacks rather than a full restaurant lineup, plus soft drinks and standard coffee and tea. Alcohol policies shift by contract and time of day, so don’t bank on a strong bar the way you might in BKK or SIN.

Power outlets and Wi‑Fi are the main reasons to sit here instead of at the gate, particularly if you’re catching up on work or backing up photos from a Myanmar trip. With the lounge open 24 hours, red‑eye departures and early‑morning arrivals get somewhere quiet to plug in for an hour or two. Bring your own charging cable and a plug adapter suited to Myanmar’s sockets to avoid hunting for the one universal outlet in the room.

Practical tip: if you’re cash‑paying the US$8 day pass, compare it to what you’d spend on one meal and a drink in T1; if you’re above that number, buy lounge access and use the Wi‑Fi and power while you wait.
