Gate-side snacks and magazines near REC T1 departures

Just past security in Terminal T1, Hudson News sits along the main departures corridor, so you hit it on the walk to most domestic and regional gates. It runs long hours aligned with the first and last flights of the day, so early 5:00 flights and late-night arrivals still see it open. Think of it as the last-minute stop for things you forgot to throw in your cabin bag.

Stock is the usual Hudson mix: bottled water in 500 ml and 1.5 L sizes, soft drinks, and canned energy drinks in the R$8–R$18 range. Shelves carry chocolate bars, chips, nuts, and packaged cookies, priced a bit above downtown Recife supermarkets but normal for airport standards. You also get a small rack of phone accessories, including charging cables and basic wired earphones that sit around R$30–R$60.

Print media leans local: Portuguese-language newspapers and magazines get most of the space, with a thinner strip of English titles that may run out by late afternoon on busy days. There are also a few paperbacks and puzzle books, good for killing an extra 90 minutes during a delay. If you need a quick pen, notebook, or envelope to fix paperwork before boarding, they usually have a small stationery section near the counter.

Cards are accepted, and receipts clearly show prices in reais, so foreign cards are fine. Lines spike about 30 minutes before big departures, especially around the midday bank of flights. Tip: grab drinks and snacks here right after you clear security in T1, before you get trapped in a packed gate area with nothing but vending machines left.
