Gate-side books and snacks in Terminal 1
Hudson sits in RDU Terminal 1 past security, right in the main concourse used by Southwest and a few smaller carriers. It’s the standard airport combo: books, magazines, snacks, drinks, basic electronics, and last‑minute travel gear in one stop. If you forgot headphones, charger blocks, or a charging cable, this is your easiest grab before T1 boarding.
Expect typical airport pricing: bottled water around $3–$4, candy and chips in the $3–$6 range, and paperbacks usually at full cover price. Coffee and cold drinks run about a dollar or two higher than off-airport. The tradeoff is speed; you can be in and out in under 5 minutes, even with a short line.
Inventory leans heavily on national brands. You’ll see standard souvenirs with “Raleigh” and “Durham” logos, basic hoodies and T‑shirts, and the usual travel pillows and eye masks. If you need a magazine for a 2–3 hour flight or a kids’ activity book before boarding, odds are good they’ll have it on the rack.
Hours track the Terminal 1 bank of departures, roughly opening with the first morning flights and closing after the last evening pushes, often around 9–10 p.m. If you’re on a 5–6 a.m. departure, don’t count on everything—especially hot drinks—being fully stocked right at open.
Tip: Grab water and snacks here in T1; Terminal 1 is smaller than Terminal 2 and options thin out fast the closer you get to some end-of-concourse gates.
