Gate-side in Terminal 2, this is RDU’s first true premium lounge.
The Chase Sapphire Lounge sits airside in Terminal 2 at Raleigh–Durham International Airport, so you need a same-day boarding pass from T2 airlines. Access runs through Chase Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders and their eligible guests; day-pass style walk-ups without a qualifying card aren’t an option right now, so don’t bank on paying at the door.
Hours track the longer bank of departures in Terminal 2, typically opening before the first 6 a.m. flights and running into the late-evening departures around 9–10 p.m. Exact times shift with the schedule, so check the current listing in the Chase app before you head past security at T2’s main checkpoint. If your flight leaves from a low-numbered gate like C1–C4, build in at least a 10–15 minute walk back.
Entry is covered as a benefit for primary Sapphire Reserve holders, with guest policies matching the 2-guest standard on other Chase Sapphire Lounge locations as of 2025. Extra guests beyond that often trigger a fee in the $75 range per person, so count heads before you check in at the front desk. Priority Pass from Sapphire Reserve should work here, but only when it’s linked through Chase, not an unrelated bank card.
Food follows the usual Chase Sapphire Lounge template: a staffed bar plus a buffet with hot items at main mealtimes and cold snacks in between. Expect things like a hot protein, vegetables, and a starch at lunch and dinner, plus eggs and pastries around the 7–9 a.m. morning push, all included in entry. Coffee, soft drinks, and house beer and wine are also included; premium cocktails and top-shelf spirits usually price à la carte in the $10–$20 bracket.
Seating runs through standard lounge armchairs, some two-top dining tables, and a few counter-style workspaces with power outlets at nearly every seat. Wi‑Fi clocks in fast enough for video calls, often in the 50–100 Mbps range based on early reports from other Chase lounges, and that’s a safe expectation here given the new build in Terminal 2. Showers may not be available at launch; if they appear later, assume a sign-up list at the front desk with 20–30 minute slots.
Practical play: if you land into Terminal 1 on a low-cost carrier and depart later from Terminal 2 on a different ticket, remember you’ll need to exit, transfer terminals, and clear T2 security again before you can get into the Chase Sapphire Lounge, so add at least 35–45 minutes to your plan.
