Accessible Parking

P1 and P2 at RAP keep accessible spaces near the walkways

Rapid City Regional Airport integrates accessible parking directly into its main lots, P1 and P2, instead of pushing disabled drivers to a separate area. Marked ADA-style spaces sit close to the pedestrian walkways that lead toward the terminal doors, so you park in the same general zones as everyone else, just with shorter walking distance.

Both P1 and P2 are airport-run facilities managed in-house by RAP, and the airport notes it offers accessible parking options across its on-site parking. That means the same payment setup, same rules, and same security presence as standard spaces, with the only difference being proximity to the walkways and clearly posted accessible signage.

Accessible stalls in P1 sit near the primary walkway that lines up with the terminal entrance, while accessible stalls in P2 sit near the lot’s internal walk path back toward the same front curb. In both lots, you roll a relatively short distance from the car to the sidewalk compared with the outer rows, which cuts down the time spent on uneven pavement or in traffic lanes.

There’s no dedicated “accessible-only” remote lot at RAP; instead, accessible capacity is built into the core parking footprint in P1 and P2. That’s useful if you’re traveling with mobility aids and still want to stay close to the main terminal action, not across the field in a special section that runs on different rules.

Practical tip: Arrive a bit earlier on peak days like summer Fridays and look for the accessible rows closest to the marked walkways in P1 first, then P2 if P1 looks busy.
