Portland International Jetport Terminal

6 airlines 5 restaurants

Terminal MAIN hosts 6 airlines. You'll find 5 dining options here.

Six airlines, one small Main Terminal

All flights at Portland International Jetport use the single Main Terminal, so American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, and United all board from the same compact gate area. No terminal changes, no inter-terminal buses, and walking from the first to last gate usually takes under 5 minutes at a normal pace.

Security at PWM sits directly ahead of the main check-in hall, with the ticket counters for American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, and United lined up along one level. You check in, walk a short distance to TSA, clear, and you are already in the only concourse the airport has, which keeps connection stress low compared with multi-terminal hubs.

The terminal runs on limited-hours concessions, so food and drink options can be thin before the first bank of departures around 5:00–6:00 a.m. and again after the last wave around 9:00–10:00 p.m. Plan on eating in downtown Portland on Commercial Street or at your hotel before you arrive at 1001 Westbrook Street if you have a late evening departure.

Lounges are simple: there are no airline clubs, no Priority Pass spaces, and no pay-per-use lounges in the Main Terminal. If you usually lean on a Delta Sky Club or United Club during a layover, factor that in before booking a long connection through PWM on Delta or United metal.

Shopping is also minimal, with the airport mainly offering basic newsstand-style retail for drinks, snacks, magazines, and last-minute travel items at small shops clustered near the gate area. Prices tend to run higher than downtown Portland grocery stores or CVS by a few dollars per item, so grab toiletries or souvenirs in town instead of counting on the airport.

Ground transport lines up right outside the single arrivals curb, with taxis, app-based rides, hotel shuttles, and local METRO bus Route 5 all stopping just a short walk from baggage claim. The rideshare pick-up zone sits at the same general curbside area, which means you can be outside with your bag and ordering an Uber or Lyft within about 5 minutes of your aircraft door opening.

Build the buffer: aim to be dropped at the Main Terminal about 90 minutes before departure during the 5:30–8:00 a.m. rush, and about 60 minutes ahead at midday or late evening, since there is only one security checkpoint and lines occasionally back up when several Southwest, Delta, and American flights bank together.
