40–50 pesos gets you a quick snack run at Oxxo

Oxxo at Puerto Vallarta Airport sits landside before security, so this is your last chance to grab cheap drinks and snacks before duty free pricing kicks in. Think standard Mexican convenience store: bottled water, sodas, cookies, chips, and a few grab-and-go items in the 20–60 MXN range. If you arrive early for a flight out of Terminal A or B, it’s worth a quick stop on the way to check-in.

Hours fluctuate with flight banks, but mid-morning to late evening is usually covered, especially on days with heavy US and Canada departures. Prices track closely to city Oxxo branches, so a 600 ml soft drink costs roughly half of what you’ll pay airside. Card payments are generally accepted, but carry a 50–100 peso note in case the terminal goes down.

Skip buying water after security if you can; a 1.5L bottle from Oxxo often runs under 30 pesos, while smaller bottles airside run much higher. You can also grab basic travel extras here: gum, mints, chocolate bars, and simple over-the-counter items, all clearly priced in MXN rather than USD.

Practical tip: build in an extra 10 minutes before heading to the airline check-in desks so you can stock up at Oxxo, especially if you’re flying out of Terminal B where options get thinner and more expensive past security.
