Under 200 pesos gets you souvenirs at La Huichol

La Huichol sits airside in Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), after security for Terminals A and B, and leans hard into local Huichol art. Expect small beaded keychains around 120–180 MXN, mid-size decorative pieces in the 400–800 MXN range, and a few bigger statement items that can jump past 1,500 MXN.

Most flights to the US and Canada leave mornings and early afternoons, and La Huichol usually opens ahead of that bank of departures and stays open through the last evening flights. That makes it a realistic stop if you land from an 08:00 domestic arrival and connect out on a 10:30 international, with enough time to browse without gambling your boarding time.

Inventory skews to beaded skulls, animals, and small plaques using traditional Huichol patterns, plus some printed t‑shirts and magnets that sit closer to 80–120 MXN. Pieces are generally light and packable, so even a 7 kg carry-on allowance on low-cost carriers from Terminal A is not a problem if you avoid the heaviest large sculptures.

Card terminals typically support both pesos and dynamic currency conversion to USD or CAD, and receipts clearly show 16% IVA. Prices are fixed and tagged, unlike some souvenir carts near the Terminal B check-in hall, so you can budget quickly: figure 300–500 MXN if you want something nicer than fridge-magnet territory.

Quick tip: snap a photo of the artist info cards attached to some pieces; they’re easy to lose in transit, and friends back home appreciate knowing which Sierra region their new art actually came from.
