PVR’s main Duty Free sits just past security in T1

Duty Free Dufry is the standard walk-through shop after security at Puerto Vallarta International Airport, covering most routes out of Terminal A and B. You pass it on the way to the international gates, so you don’t need a separate detour. Expect the usual liquor, perfume, cosmetics, and chocolates, all in one continuous store layout that stretches a solid 40–60 meters between security and the main concourse.

Hours generally track flight banks, opening before the first international departures and staying open until the last outbound flights at night, often close to 22:00. Stock skews toward tequila and mezcal at multiple price points, plus big-name whisky, rum, and vodka. Perfume and cosmetics run at typical duty free pricing, sometimes cheaper than US or Canada, sometimes not. Tobacco is behind the counter with carton-only sales on most brands.

On liquor, you’ll usually find 750 ml tequila bottles starting around mid-range pricing, with gift-pack boxes running higher. Chocolate multi-packs, souvenir candy, and travel snack tins sit near the central walkway for quick grabs if you have under 10 minutes before boarding. Electronics here are limited to headphones, power banks, and travel adapters, and prices often sit 10–20% higher than downtown Puerto Vallarta shops.

Payment works smoothly with major credit cards, pesos, and usually US dollars, with change often given in pesos. Watch your time: lines at the main cashier can hit 5–10 minutes during peak departures with three or four medium-haul flights boarding at once. Quick tip: if you only need one or two bottles, grab from the shelves closest to your gate-side exit so you can bail out fast if your boarding group gets called early.
