Häagen-Dazs

T2 $$$$

One scoop at this T2 Häagen-Dazs can run 40–60 RMB

In Shanghai Pudong’s T2, Häagen-Dazs is the “I’m bored, might as well” dessert stop before boarding. Prices run higher than downtown shops; expect a single scoop or basic cup to land in the 40–60 RMB range, with sundaes pushing above 80 RMB once you add toppings and sauce. It sits airside in Terminal 2, so you need a boarding pass and security check done before you can order anything.

Hours track with typical T2 flight banks, opening from early morning (~7:00) through late-night departures after 22:00, but exact closing time can slide with traffic. Seating is limited café-style, a few small tables and chairs squeezed into the concourse near other T2 food outlets, so think quick stop rather than a long sit-down dessert shop. The menu sticks to classic Häagen-Dazs flavors like strawberry, vanilla, macadamia nut, plus the usual sundaes and ice-cream drinks.

Regular complaints in Chinese reviews call out the gap between airport prices here and central Shanghai locations, sometimes 10–20 RMB more for the same cup. A basic cone or cup is the least painful way to get your fix; the multi-scoop sundaes and plated desserts spike your bill fast, especially if you add coffee or tea at another 25–35 RMB. One reviewer flat-out wrote that it felt expensive, but boredom during a long wait at PVG T2 pushed them into ordering a single ice cream.

Watch out for slow prep times when there’s a nearby widebody departure; with one or two staff on duty, a short line of 5–6 people can easily mean 10 minutes of waiting for sundaes. If your boarding pass shows a gate at the far end of T2, grab your ice cream first, then walk to the gate while you eat so you’re not stuck juggling a melting cup during final call.
