T2’s Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge sits airside for Star Alliance flyers
This SilverKris Lounge is in Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong (PVG), past security and passport control, and open to Star Alliance premium passengers and eligible status holders. It serves Singapore Airlines departures and other Star Alliance carriers using T2, so you can stay inside the terminal’s secure zone until boarding.
The lounge runs in step with Singapore Airlines’ flight schedule out of PVG T2, typically opening several hours before the first SQ departure and closing after the last bank. Check the exact hours against your SQ or Star Alliance flight, as the lounge does not follow a 24-hour model and late-night non-SQ departures in T2 may find it closed.
Access is limited to Terminal 2, so you can’t practically use this lounge if your Star Alliance flight leaves from T1 at PVG. Your boarding pass must show a same-day Star Alliance flight, and Singapore Airlines business or first class, plus Star Alliance Gold in economy or premium economy, generally clears the door here.
Food and drink follow the usual SilverKris pattern rather than anything Shanghai-specific, with a compact buffet of hot and cold items timed around SQ departures in T2. Expect a functional mix of snacks and basic hot dishes instead of a restaurant-level menu, and beer, wine, soft drinks, and standard spirits rather than rare bottles or high-end cocktails.
Seating covers standard lounge armchairs and dining tables, arranged to work for 1–2 hours before a Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance flight from T2. Power outlets are scattered but not at every seat, so if you need to charge a laptop before a long-haul sector, grab a spot next to a visible mains socket as soon as you walk in.
Showers typically track Singapore Airlines’ long-haul timings at PVG T2, and staff may limit access during short ground times between arriving and departing SQ flights. Towels and basic amenities are usually stocked, so you can plan a quick rinse before an overnight or ultra-long-haul departure instead of hunting for facilities in the public T2 concourse.
The lounge sits airside, so you must clear both security and exit immigration in T2 before reaching it, a process that can easily stretch beyond 30 minutes at PVG during morning or evening peaks. Build in that buffer and aim to arrive at the SilverKris Lounge at least 60–75 minutes before boarding to make the stop worthwhile.
