That “fallback pizza place” in PUJ is the Pizza Hut

This Pizza Hut sits airside in departures at Punta Cana (PUJ), used by FlyerTalk regulars in Terminal A when lounge access doesn’t work out. It’s a basic counter-service setup with limited seating and airport pricing in the $$ range, so think more “safety net before boarding” than destination meal.

You’ll find the usual Pizza Hut lineup: personal pizzas, slices, and soft drinks, with combos often coming in around mid-teens USD once taxes are factored in. Menu boards lean heavily on pepperoni and cheese pies, plus a few sides; don’t expect the full international Pizza Hut menu or many local twists.

Opening hours roughly track the outbound bank of flights from PUJ, so it’s usually operating from early morning departures through late-afternoon and often into the evening rush; count on it being open if you’re flying in the main 09:00–19:00 window. It’s post-security, so this is only an option once you’ve cleared outbound passport control and the main checkpoint.

Quality reports from FlyerTalk skew “good enough when everything else fails.” Frequent visitors describe “the pizza restaurant” in PUJ as a last resort, pointing to doughy crusts and so-so cheese for the price. If you’re picky, stick to a simple pepperoni or cheese slice and skip anything that’s been sitting too long under the heat lamps.

Regulars with Wyndham or Priority Pass status try hard to route themselves into one of the two PUJ lounges, one in Terminal A and one in Terminal B, and only fall back to Pizza Hut if they miss lounge entry or arrive too early. Others eat at their resort before heading to the airport, then grab only a drink here while they wait at the gate.

Practical tip: walk past once before you commit; check which pies just came out of the oven and order from those trays to avoid the driest slices.
