Main Public Parking

Surface lot

It’s about a 10-minute walk from Main Public Parking to terminals A and B at Punta Cana International, so build that into your timing.

Main Public Parking sits right in front of the terminal complex and functions as the airport’s default surface lot for both A and B. You park in open air, standard lined spaces, so this feels more like a regular mall lot than a structured garage. There’s no shuttle loop here; you walk straight to the terminal entrances in roughly 10 minutes depending on bags and kids.

Rates run around $20 per day, which makes this lot better suited to short trips than to week-long holidays. If you’re leaving the car for 5 days, you’re looking at roughly $100, so it quickly climbs past the cost of a private transfer for some groups. For same-day drop-off and pick-up, that daily cap still applies, so don’t park and forget about it for an entire beach day.

This is standard public access parking, not a reserved or premium product, and it’s all surface, so no covered sections to shield from the Punta Cana sun. Expect basic lighting and straightforward pay-on-exit machines; you’re not getting valet-style help or pre-booked bays here. You’ll want to take note of your row or a nearby sign since there’s no multi-level numbering to fall back on.

Lines at the exit can bunch up around busy departure banks for terminals A and B, especially when multiple US and Canadian flights leave in the same mid-day window. Plan an extra 10–15 minutes on top of the 10-minute walk if your flight pushes around those peaks. One practical tip: drop bags and passengers at the terminal curb first, then loop back to park the car solo and walk in light.
