Terminal B’s pool lounge uses the same door for Amex and Priority Pass.
This “VIP Lounge American Express” in Terminal B at PUJ is the regular VIP Lounge with the outdoor pool, not a separate Amex-branded room. Amex Platinum cardholders enroll in Priority Pass, then present the digital or physical Priority Pass card and same-day boarding pass at the standard check-in desk. Day passes run about $35 per person if you pay cash at the counter.
The lounge sits airside in Terminal B, after security and passport control, on the upper level near the main departures area. Plan at least 15–20 minutes from security to check-in and then walking back to most B-gates, as the pool deck adds a short extra walk. Entry hours generally track with outbound flights, opening in the early morning and staying open into the evening bank of US and Canada departures.
Access for Amex works through Priority Pass, not via a separate “Centurion-style” entrance. With an Amex Platinum, you first activate Priority Pass in your Amex account, then at Punta Cana the staff simply scan your Priority Pass membership like any other guest. If you don’t have lounge membership, you can still pay the $35 day rate at the same desk and walk in with a standard boarding pass for a same-day international departure from Terminal B.
Inside, food skews basic: expect finger sandwiches, a couple of hot trays, and packaged snacks rather than a full restaurant-level meal. Drinks include local beer, simple mixed drinks, and soft drinks at the staffed bar, with self-serve coffee machines by the seating area. Prices inside are included with entry, so that $35 fee or your Priority Pass/Amex access covers standard food and drinks, with only some premium liquor sometimes charged extra.
The outdoor pool is the lounge’s signature feature, sitting directly on the same level and reached in under 2 minutes from the indoor seating. Bring a swimsuit in your carry-on if you want to use it, and budget another 10 minutes at the end to shower off and repack before walking back to your gate. Crowd levels spike in the late-morning wave of US departures, so earlier flights around 7:00–9:00 a.m. usually see an easier time finding seats near a power outlet.
Practical tip: if your layover or pre-flight window is under 60 minutes from clearing security to boarding, skip the $35 entry and head straight to your Terminal B gate instead of stretching for quick pool time.
