Short-Term Parking

Hourly surface lot

First 7 minutes are free in PSP’s Short-Term Parking

This hourly surface lot sits directly across from the Main terminal, about a 2-minute walk from check-in, and uses the same main surface lot as long-term parking but on a different pricing clock.

Rates run $3 per 20 minutes, capped at $9 per hour and $26 for the day, with a free grace period for the first 7 minutes before charges kick in at the 8-minute mark.

Because there’s no separate remote short-stay lot, short-term drivers get premium close-in parking at the same front lot used by long-term parkers, just billed by the 20-minute block instead of immediately hitting the daily $26 cap.

Payment is handled at the main lot exits with cash, standard credit cards, and tap‑to‑pay, so you can roll up for a quick pickup, tag out with contactless, and be back on El Cielo Road in under 10 minutes if timing goes to plan.

Regulars treat the lot like upgraded curb access, timing arrivals so they can get in and out within 7 free minutes for a pickup, but they’ll bite the bullet on a $9 first hour when they know they’ll be inside helping with bags or assisting older relatives.

Watch out for the sharp jump from free to paid: hit 8–9 minutes and you’re charged $3, then it climbs quickly in 20‑minute blocks, which feels steep at a small airport if you only misjudged by a couple of minutes.

Pro tip: Stage on Airport Center Drive and only enter the lot once the flight shows bags on belt; that gives you a realistic shot at using the 7-minute grace period without rushing the 2‑minute walk from car to arrivals.
