Pre-security bar at PNS where locals meet arrivals
Just inside the Main terminal doors, Beach House sits landside near ticketing and runs daily from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. It’s one of the few spots at Pensacola International where you can sit down, order seafood or a burger, and have a full bar drink without clearing TSA. Figure $$ pricing and about airport-level markups compared with bars out on 12th Avenue.
Beach House runs as a casual seafood grill with a bar, operated by OHM (same group as the airport Einstein Bros., Freshens, and Chick-fil-A). The menu leans simple: burgers, sandwiches, and the house fish tacos, plus standard drafts and basic cocktails. Reviews cluster around a 3-star feel: acceptable food, nothing you’d drive here for if you weren’t already at PNS.
Travelers on TripAdvisor call it “okay – burgers and beers” and like that it beats killing 90 minutes at the gate with chips from a kiosk. Prices run a few dollars higher per plate than grills just outside the airport complex, so expect to pay airport tax on that burger and pint. Figure a quick lunch with one drink lands around $20–$25 before tip.
Locals use Beach House as a meetup point and time a drink around arrival boards instead of hovering by baggage claim carousels 1–3. Regulars on Google say they head straight to the bar seats for faster service, especially in the afternoon rush when there’s often only one bartender covering both counter and tables.
Watch for slowdowns when a bank of flights lands and the single server ends up handling the entire room; that’s when “inattentive” pops up in reviews. Service is smoother in the late morning before the 3:00PM–6:00PM wave. Practical move: grab a bar stool, order the fish tacos and a draft as soon as you walk in, then keep an eye on arrivals on your phone.
