Driver-with-a-sign pickup works well at PNQ after midnight

Hotel shuttles at Pune International Airport (PNQ) mainly serve business‑class and upscale chain hotels along Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, and Koregaon Park, typically 3–9 km from the NITB terminal. These runs are pre-booked through the hotel, not bought at a counter, and most properties tie the cost into a room package or charge a fixed airport transfer fee in the ₹600–₹1,500 range per car.

Shuttle drivers usually wait just outside NITB arrivals, near the main exit gate where other chauffeur cars stand, holding a paper or tablet sign with your name or company. Many flights from Delhi, Bengaluru, and international hubs like Dubai land between 23:00 and 04:00, so having a nameboard pickup here saves you from haggling with taxi drivers at 01:30 when queues spike after a bank of arrivals.

Most large chains within a 20–30 minute drive of PNQ, such as business hotels around Nagar Road and Bund Garden Road, run their own cars or contract a regular vendor instead of using shared vans. You’ll usually get a sedan for 1–2 guests or an Innova‑type MPV if you note 3–4 guests plus bags in the booking, and pricing is almost always per vehicle, not per passenger.

Book the shuttle with your hotel at least 12–24 hours before landing and give them your exact flight number, such as 6E 123 or UK 555, so they can track delays. If your inbound is more than 30–45 minutes late, many hotels will still hold the car, but after an hour some drivers move to another job unless you or the hotel reconfirms on WhatsApp or phone.

On arrival at NITB, expect to clear baggage claim and walk to the car stand in 5–15 minutes on a normal day; during the evening bank around 20:00–23:00, luggage from full A320 loads can add another 10 minutes. If you don’t see your nameboard immediately, walk a slow loop along the line of drivers before calling the hotel, because some stand closer to the parking exit than the main door.

For departures, hotels typically schedule pickup 2–2.5 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight, and the drive back from Viman Nagar or Kalyani Nagar to PNQ often takes 15–25 minutes outside peak 18:00–21:00 traffic. One practical tip: confirm the car’s last four digits and driver name by SMS or WhatsApp with the hotel before you leave the lobby, then match both at NITB so you don’t climb into the wrong white sedan in a crowd of similar vehicles.
