Liquor and Tobacco Corner

Duty-free bottles by Gate 1 in Main Terminal

Liquor and Tobacco Corner sits airside in the Main terminal near Gate 1, right after security at Providenciales (PLS). It’s the primary duty-free stop for spirits and cigarettes before US, Canada, and UK departures. Shelves lean heavily toward rum and Caribbean labels, with standard international brands filling the rest. Expect basic shop lighting and tight aisles; this is a functional grab-and-go spot, not a place to browse for 30 minutes.

Prices run better than downtown resort shops for duty-free eligible travelers, especially on 1L bottles of rum and vodka. You’ll also see cigarette cartons stacked behind the counter, usually with clearer labeling on duty-free limits by destination. Staff handle most items from behind the counter, so factor an extra 5–10 minutes if there’s a small queue. Credit cards dominate here; keep a backup card in case one network has issues.

Selection skews toward mid-shelf brands and local rums; don’t expect rare single malts or high-end cognac lines. If you want something very specific, buy it before reaching PLS and use this shop only for local rum or last-minute cartons. Spirits are generally in 750 ml and 1L sizes, labeled clearly in USD. Check your airline’s carry-on liquid rules for connections, especially if you’re changing planes in the US or Canada with under 2 hours between flights.

Final tip: shop here after immigration but before heading to your gate; lines tend to be shorter in the first 2–3 morning departures than in the afternoon rush.
