Cinnabon

Concourse A Open · 05:00-20:00 (as of March 2020 concessions list; subject to later changes) ★ 3 $$$$

Gate-side sugar hit in Concourse A: this is PIT’s Cinnabon.

Post-security on Concourse A, Cinnabon runs roughly 05:00–20:00, so it catches most early departures and early evening returns. This is the main spot in A for a hot, cinnamon-heavy breakfast when a roll sounds better than a bagel. Expect the standard mall-style setup right off the concourse, close enough that you smell the frosting long before you see the counter.

Prices sit in the airport markup zone for pastries, roughly in the $ tier but still higher than a bakery in town. Classic cinnamon rolls and coffee are the default orders, with icing pooled in the center and that familiar “sugar overload” a Google reviewer mentioned after an early A-concourse flight. Figure on one roll being more than enough for a full meal, especially before a morning departure.

The rolls can be hit-or-miss on temperature; some reviewers call out lukewarm buns that clearly sat a bit in the case. If the tray looks low, you’re more likely to get a fresh, hotter roll than if it’s full of older ones. The sweetness is intense, and more than one traveler mentions regretting a whole roll before a two- or three-hour flight out of Pittsburgh.

Regulars often split a single classic roll between two people to keep the sugar manageable, especially on early flights leaving A at 06:00 or 07:00. Others grab the coffee here but walk a few gates to pair it with better espresso from another vendor in the Main terminal area. Lines usually move quickly, and one reviewer noted a short queue even before a morning departure.

Practical tip: ask how long it’s been since the last batch came out of the oven; if it’s been more than 20–30 minutes, wait for the next tray or split one roll and back it up with something savory from another Concourse A spot.
