Old “Short Term” deck at PIT is now completely closed
The Short Term Parking Garage that used to sit right by the Main terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport is now shut to passengers as part of the new terminal project. PIT’s own parking page lists the entire Short Term Garage as closed, so you can’t drive in, pull a ticket, or park there for even 30 minutes.
As of 2026, all official on-site options at PIT route you to the Terminal Garage or the Shuttle Lot instead of Short Term. Flyers on r/pittsburgh and FlyerTalk say “short term garage is gone with the new terminal project” and now just choose between the Terminal Garage for walkable access or the Shuttle Lot for lower daily rates, depending on trip length.
Some older Google Maps pins and Yelp entries still show “Short Term Parking Garage” as if it’s open at the Main terminal address, which has led a few drivers to show up expecting a quick park and instead hit construction barriers. Recent Google reviews mention arriving to find no public entry and then having to reroute back to the signed Shuttle Lot or Terminal Garage, burning 10–15 extra minutes.
Several r/pittsburgh threads call out that in-car navigation and old blog posts still reference “Short Term” along Airport Boulevard, even though the deck is closed and reconfigured into the current shuttle setup. Frequent PIT flyers now tell first-timers to ignore any Short Term signage and to pull up the current airport parking map showing Short Term marked as closed to passengers before they leave home.
Practical tip: If any app or blog mentions “Short Term Garage” at PIT, treat it as outdated and aim directly for “Terminal Garage” or “Shuttle Lot” in your GPS instead.
