Main terminal fast-food option before security
Chick-fil-A sits landside in PIE’s Main terminal, so you hit it before TSA instead of hunting for food at the gate. That matters here because once you head toward the single concourse, options shrink fast and lines build quickly during the 7:00–9:00 a.m. departures bank. If you’re dropping a rental car or getting picked up, you can still grab food here without a boarding pass.
The menu follows the standard Chick-fil-A playbook: chicken biscuit and hash browns in the morning, regular chicken sandwiches and nuggets later in the day, plus waffle fries and lemonade. Prices track typical airport fast food, roughly a couple of dollars higher per combo than an off-airport location along Roosevelt Boulevard. If you know the brand, nothing surprises you; if you don’t, the classic chicken sandwich is the baseline order.
PIE doesn’t publish exact Chick-fil-A hours, but assume standard early opening that lines up with the first Allegiant departures and closing by early evening when the last flights roll out. Like almost every Chick-fil-A in the U.S., you should expect it to be closed on Sundays, which matters at a small airport with limited backups. If you have a Sunday flight, plan to eat before you reach the terminal or pack something.
Expect the usual quick-service routine: order at the counter, wait a few minutes, then carry your bagged food toward the single security checkpoint or the seating near ticketing. Turnaround is usually faster than 15 minutes, even when the queue stretches past 10 people. Drinks come in disposable cups only, so factor TSA’s 3.4-ounce liquid rule into what you finish before heading to screening.
Tip: if your flight leaves before 9:00 a.m., arrive 20–30 minutes earlier than you normally would so you can clear any Chick-fil-A line and still reach Main terminal security with time to spare.
