Three-minute walk, $15/day, and the closest long stay at PIE

Long Term Parking at St. Pete–Clearwater (Main terminal) sits directly adjacent to the building, about a 3-minute walk to check-in with bags. The daily maximum is $15, so a 5-day trip runs you about $75 plus tax. There’s no shuttle on this side of the airport because you don’t need one; you roll your suitcase straight from your car to the doors.

The lot is open 24/7, which helps for those 5:45 a.m. Allegiant departures and midnight arrivals. Signage to Long Term splits off the main airport loop just before the terminal. Stays here are meant for longer trips, not quick pickups, and PIE backs that up with a separate short-term area and economy options that kick in if Long Term fills.

Airport messaging and local news both say the long-term lot “fills up frequently,” especially around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring break. One Google reviewer said they “aim for long term but usually end up in Key Lime” because by mid-morning in peak season, Long Term is already full. Another reviewer liked that it’s “right next to the terminal” and just walked over, but warned that busy weekends turn the entry road into a slow queue.

Watch out for the “limited parking” and “lots may fill” signs as you approach; several drivers say they missed them and only realized Long Term was full after getting stuck in the entrance line. EV charging is currently not available in this lot, so don’t plan on topping up while you’re away. PIE has roughly 3,200 spaces across all lots, and airport officials openly say they expect to run out during peak holidays.

Regulars check the airport parking page before leaving home and, on big travel days, sometimes skip Long Term altogether and head straight to an economy lot with shuttle service. Build a 30-minute buffer beyond your normal airport arrival time so if Long Term is closed, you have room to reroute to Key Lime or another overflow option without sweating your boarding time.
