Key Lime PIE Lot

Remote

Across Roosevelt Blvd, this is PIE’s main overflow workhorse

Key Lime PIE Lot sits across Roosevelt Blvd on 46th Street and runs $10.00 per day, making it PIE’s primary economy option once the main long-term lot hits capacity. Airport alerts and local news say drivers are routinely sent straight here on peak holidays and busy Saturday mornings. Treat it as Economy Lot #1, not a backup you only use if everything else fails.

The lot is across the street from the airport entrance, but you don’t walk across Roosevelt Blvd. Parking is remote, and you ride the shuttle from the Key Lime stop back to the Main terminal. One reviewer clocked about 5 minutes from boarding to the terminal doors, as long as a shuttle was already in the loop. The airport describes shuttle coverage as running with the same hours as the lot, with extra buffer after late flights.

Economy operations here are on a schedule: lots, including Key Lime, open 2 hours before the first departure and close 1 hour after the last arrival. Shuttle service officially stretches 30 minutes past delayed arrivals, so those last inbound flights around 11:00 p.m. to midnight are still covered. If your return pushes into the small hours beyond that window, build in a backup plan like a rideshare from the terminal.

Shuttle timing is the swing factor. One Google review says the bus “loops pretty often,” with barely any wait outbound, but the same traveler felt the return ride took longer when several flights landed at once. Figure roughly 20 minutes door to door during normal periods, including wait plus the 5-minute drive, and expect longer if two or three arrivals dump passengers at the same time.

Security and wayfinding come up in reviews. At night, some describe the lot as “pretty empty” and mention they’re counting on sheriff’s patrols rather than other people around, though there are no specific incident reports. A few first-timers say signage from the Main terminal back to Key Lime gets muddled when the Strawberry and Overflow economy lots are also running, especially near the curbside shuttle stops.

Regular PIE flyers on Google Maps say they now skip long-term altogether on forecasted full days and just drive straight to Key Lime, since staff often redirect them there anyway once the main lot closes its gates. Many take a quick photo of the Key Lime sign and nearest shuttle pole number so they can tell the driver exactly which stop they need on the return loop.

Tip: If you have a tight morning departure, go directly to Key Lime PIE Lot, factor in a 20-minute shuttle cushion, and snap that sign photo before you walk away from your car.
