Economy Parking

Remote

$10 per day buys you PIE’s cheapest remote parking

Economy Parking at St. Pete–Clearwater (PIE) runs a flat $10.00 per day, undercutting the on-airport long-term lot when you’re watching costs. It sits about 0.3 miles from the Main Terminal and is classed as a remote option, so you’re committing to a shuttle instead of a sidewalk. The airport openly treats economy as the overflow once long-term fills, so on busy holidays this lot goes from “budget choice” to “only choice” pretty fast.

The economy system is split into three surface lots: Key Lime, Strawberry, and Overflow. Same daily $10.00 rate, same hourly structure as the other lots, just more walking between rows and a shuttle ride on top. Regulars say they skip the long-term hunt and pull straight into Key Lime once PIE’s site or roadside signs start warning that long-term is nearing capacity.

Shuttles are advertised at about every 20 minutes, and reviewers report anywhere from 5 minutes on a good departure pickup to 15–20 minutes curbside at night when several flights land together. The airport says the lots open 2 hours before the first departure and stay open 1 hour after the last flight, with shuttles running up to 30 minutes after delayed arrivals, so this isn’t a true 24/7 operation.

Watch out for the operating window: one reviewer flatly said “don’t show up crazy early” because the shuttle simply wasn’t running before that 2-hour mark. Another noted an approximately 15-minute wait on return when multiple flights dumped passengers at once. No reservation system means you can’t lock a long-term space in advance, so in peak season you might get waved straight to an economy lot and add that 20–30 minutes of buffer regulars talk about.

On arrival day, snap a photo of your Key Lime/Strawberry/Overflow sign and row number so you can tell the driver exactly where to drop you on the way back.
