Pre-security on Level 2, the PHX USO runs 07:00–15:00.
The USO Lounge sits at the east end of Level 2 in Terminal 4, before security, and operates daily from 07:00 to 15:00. Think of it as a daytime living room for active-duty military, Guard, Reserve, and their families, not an airline club with showers and bar service.
Because it is pre-security at Terminal 4, you still need time to get through TSA afterward, so build in at least 30–40 minutes before boarding from gates in T4 or connections in T3. Access is limited to eligible military and dependents; civilians and regular Priority Pass-style cards do not get you in.
Inside, expect couches, TV, and a kids’ play area rather than quiet-office vibes. The airport’s own listing calls out games, computers, and a kitchen, so this works well if you have children who need to burn energy between 07:00 and 15:00 instead of sitting at a gate with nothing but a phone.
The kitchen usually carries basic snacks and drinks at no charge, more “help yourself at home” than restaurant. You will not find a full hot buffet or premium liquor here, but you can grab something small, sit down at a real table, and use the computers to check email before you head back into Terminal 4’s main concourse.
Because it closes mid-afternoon at 15:00, anyone on later departures from PHX needs a backup plan for the evening. Early flyers on 08:00–11:00 departures often check in, grab coffee and snacks here, let kids play for 20–30 minutes, and then head to security rather than waiting in the general seating near the T4 food court.
One practical move: if you land into another terminal or drive in, go straight to the USO at the east end of Level 2 in T4 first, reset, eat, and repack, then walk back toward security with at least 45 minutes to spare for lines and the trek to your gate.
