Escape Lounge

4 · Across from Gate B22 Open · 05:00-22:00 Day pass $40-45

Chef-driven plates across from Gate B22 in Terminal 4

This Escape Lounge in PHX Terminal 4 sits directly across from Gate B22, and frequent flyers say the cooked-to-order food here outperforms the brand-new Chase Sapphire Lounge in the same terminal. Doors open daily at 05:00 and close at 22:00, so it covers the early AA bank and most late westbound departures out of the B gates.

Access works three ways: Priority Pass, American Express Platinum/Centurion, or a day pass that runs about $40 plus tax online or $45 plus tax at the door. Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders generally get in free with up to two guests, which makes this a strong value play compared with a $20 airport burger near B20.

The room itself is small by US hub standards, which multiple FlyerTalk posts call out, and that footprint drives the frequent entry waits during the 07:00–10:00 and late afternoon banks. A few regulars mention watching the Escape Lounge site and seeing specific dates and times marked sold out, so walk-up day passes are far from guaranteed.

Food is the headline here: chef-driven plated dishes plus a pop-up food station on some days, with one BA flyer calling the options “reasonable” and another saying the quality beats PHX’s Chase Sapphire Lounge. You still get the usual basics—snacks, coffee, and soft drinks—but the draw is sitting down for a proper hot meal an escalator ride from B22 instead of juggling takeout at B24.

Drinks land in the mid-tier lounge range: wine and beer are included, spirits vary by day, and staff service gets described as “incredible” in at least one FlyerTalk report. If you care about making an 08:00 connection, figure on 5–7 minutes to walk from the mid-B gates, check in at the podium, and find a seat.

Watch out for capacity controls: travelers report being turned away during busy periods in Terminal 4, and separate demand at the Escape in Terminal 3 has tightened same-day availability across PHX. If you know you’ll want a three-hour sit before a 17:30 transcon, pre-book the paid access when you see a $40 slot rather than gambling on space at 15:00.

One practical move: on Amex or Priority Pass, skip terminal food and time your airport arrival so you can eat a full plated meal here about 60–75 minutes before boarding from any B-gate in Terminal 4.
