Centurion Studio Partner Lounge

4

Amex signage at PHX points “Centurion Studio Partner” to Terminal 3

At Phoenix, the Centurion Studio Partner name on Amex materials actually refers to the Escape Lounge in Terminal 3 between E and F gates, not a separate space in Terminal 4. That’s the catch: if your flight leaves from T4, you won’t find a Studio Partner-branded room near the B21 Centurion Lounge entrance, even though the wording makes it sound like you should.

Terminal 4 at PHX technically lists “Centurion Studio Partner Lounge” under American Express access, but the true Studio Partner location Amex uses in Phoenix is the Escape Lounge in T3. Flyers on FlyerTalk call out that the T3 Escape Lounge carries the “Escape Lounge – Centurion Studio Partner” branding, while T4 is home to the full-size Centurion at Gate B21 instead.

Access rules: Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders get complimentary entry to Escape Lounges that are labeled Centurion Studio Partners, which at PHX means the Terminal 3 Escape Lounge. Priority Pass also gets you into that same Escape Lounge, but your Platinum card works directly there, so you don’t need to burn a Priority Pass visit.

The gotcha is security and terminal layout. Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 are separate checkpoint zones at PHX, and the airside Sky Train link you might expect doesn’t exist between the concourses. If your boarding pass shows a T4 gate like B21 or C-something, using the T3 Escape Lounge would mean exiting, taking the Sky Train, and clearing security twice, which eats serious time.

Regular Amex flyers on PHX threads say they specifically pick airlines and routings that keep them in Terminal 3 so they can use both Priority Pass and the Amex Studio Partner benefits in the Escape Lounge there. That strategy works best on longer connections of 90 minutes or more, where the extra walk and security queue still leave you with lounge time.

Watch out for the branding mismatch: some cardholders report walking toward signage for a Centurion Lounge near Gate B21 in T4 expecting “Studio Partner” features, then realizing that the Studio Partner label Amex uses in app and marketing actually maps to the Escape Lounge in T3. Check the terminal code on your boarding pass (3 vs 4) before you start following any Amex logo.

One tip: if your flight is locked to Terminal 4, treat this Centurion Studio Partner label as a naming quirk and plan on the regular B21 Centurion Lounge or your airline club instead; save the T3 Escape Lounge for trips where your airline already uses Terminal 3.
